The Nigerian Epic

Hey guys! So I just finished reading Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Adichie and I will admit with no shame I cried for about 30 minutes. It was so devastating, yet uplifting; full of promise and prose and enough wisdom for a lifetime. I truly felt the yearnings and pain of all of the characters, especially Ugwu.

Set over the time before and during the Biafran War, Adichie takes us to a Nigeria in turmoil. Through the eyes of Uwgu, faithful houseboy to Odenigbo, Olanna, his beautiful mistress, and Richard, who is infatuated with Olanna’s headstrong twin sister, Kiannene. It is a tale of war and love, and the pain that comes with both, and the inspiration that rises from within.

It is a must read!!! Please find and read!😊
